Kufstein train station is centrally located and within 15 minutes you can be sitting in the lecture room.

Kufstein is now a border station in the Munich Transport and Tariff Association – making travel between Munich and Kufstein more affordable and convenient for student commuters and pupils. Whether it's from the lecture room to the ski slopes or a relaxed journey home by train – the new connection makes it possible.

Kufstein impresses with its stunning mountain scenery and, at the same time, its ideal public transport connections. Since December 2023, the fortress city has been a new border station in the transport network thanks to the expansion of the Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV) to include the districts of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, Miesbach and Rosenheim. Kufstein, which is in zone twelve, can be reached from Munich in about an hour and a half with the RB54.

For students at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol and students at the International School Kufstein (ISK) from the Munich area, the new service means one thing above all: easy and affordable commuting. The expansion of the transport network means that there are now a range of fares to choose from, making regular travel even more convenient and flexible. A single ticket and attractive fare offers make planning easier.

RATES FOR STUDENTS AND SCHOOLCHILDREN

The State of Bavaria offers a discounted Deutschland-Ticket for apprentices, students and those doing voluntary service, which can be used throughout Germany. The ticket, which costs EUR 38, is an attractive option for commuting students at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein Tirol in particular and is significantly cheaper than the regular Germany ticket. Please note: only the Munich Transport Corporation (MVG) is mentioned as a sales partner on the homepage.

THE TRAIN CONNECTION IS AN ENORMOUS RELIEF FOR ME. I USE THE TRAVEL TIME TO PREPARE FOR THE LECTURES OR TO REVISE ON THE WAY HOME.

For ISK students from the Munich area, the new connection offers a particularly practical solution. With the 365-Euro-Ticket, they can stay mobile in the MVV area with a single ticket throughout the year and also have the option of an easy commute to school. The offer, which is available through the MVV, is designed to provide students and trainees at state-recognized schools with a noticeable improvement in costs and mobility.

STUDYING IN KUFSTEIN – THE PERFECT SOLUTION FOR COMMUTERS

Those who travel by train can experience the charming city life of Kufstein. The route from the train station to the Kufstein campus leads through the lively city center of Kufstein, past the historic fortress and numerous cafes, restaurants and shops. In addition, thanks to the central location of the train station, everything you need can be easily reached directly on the way to the University of Applied Sciences.

THE TRAIN CONNECTION BETWEEN MUNICH AND KUFSTEIN ENABLES ME TO PURSUE MY DREAM STUDIES, TO SPEND TIME WITH MY COMPANIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME ENJOY CITY LIFE.

With the inclusion of Kufstein in the MVV, students and pupils benefit from even better connections to the public transport network. Another advantage is that the International Student Residence is also only a 15-minute walk from the train station, so that group work and visits can be easily integrated into everyday life without a car.

The good accessibility, combined with the excellent infrastructure and natural backdrop, makes it possible to fully concentrate on the degree program while enjoying the advantages of the region.
